Hello and welcome! One of the most difficult things to do in life, is to ask for help. As a licensed clinical social worker, I utilize a person centered approach to reduce those anxieties and assist you in gaining and developing the skills needed to tackle life’s challenges and your mental health struggles. I have an extensive background in working with individuals, families, and couples. I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, and senior citizens experiencing struggles due to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, autism, past trauma, psychosis, substance use, or just all of the challenges that come with living in today’s world. It is through a person centered trauma informed care approach, combined with the use of multiple models of therapy including, CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Strength’s Based Solutions Focused, Systems Theory, and Trauma Focused CBT, that we will collaborate to create goals and a path that work for your journey.

I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and have 14 years of experience as a licensed social worker. Additionally, for the past 10 years I have taught Advanced Practice with Individuals and Advanced Practice with Families in the graduate department at NC State University. I have predominantly worked in psychiatric hospitals and emergency rooms, meeting people in their greatest moment of need and frequently at their low points in life. All of this experience and knowledge has taught me that every single person is an individual with their own path and journey and no single approach works for everyone. My areas of expertise, assessing, diagnosing or identifying presenting issues, and treating come from years of working with the individual person in front of me.
