What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or CBT, is a research-based mode of therapy that focuses on increasing control of thoughts and behaviors.  By developing insight into automatic thought patterns and core beliefs, CBT will develop tools to disrupt these negative patterns and reframe them into positive, healthy patterns.  Healthy patterns can result in higher self-esteem, better relationships, increased desire and motivation, and new goals.  You will discover how your behaviors are the result of ways you have adapted to past events and what their impact on your present life.  This, along with the new skills you will learn, will empower you to make healthy decisions and see yourself and the world around you in a new light.  CBT tools will create happier and more adaptive thought patterns to energize you from the stuck places into a new normal where you will be better adapted to create the life you want.
