Depression

How do you recognize if you’ve been experiencing depression?

  • You’ve been feeling less motivated to do the things that normally come easy.
  • Activities or interests you’ve always loved suddenly don’t seem that exciting any more.
  • You feel tired all the time and find yourself sleeping more or hardly sleeping at all.
  • Friends and family have noticed you aren’t like your normal self, but you can’t seem to find a way to climb out of this hole.
  • The empty feeling is starting to feel normal, and that scares you, because everyday tasks have become hard to do.
  • Life has lost its color and you feel trapped in a gray world while everyone else around you is living in color.
  • You just go through the motions, but you’re barely making it.

Living with depression is hard. Loved ones want to help, but depression feels so overwhelming and isolating that it’s difficult to explain. Some days it’s like you’re drowning but no one can see it.  Having depression can encompass your life in such a way that you feel hopeless to ever get your life back.

There is hope.
