“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”

We all have moments in life where we experience depression, anxiety, or overwhelming situations that seem to knock the wind right out of us. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to face these challenges alone. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, my role is to help individuals navigate their mental health challenge and develop healthy coping strategies to improve their overall well-being.

As a Clinician, I aim to create a safe and unbiased therapeutic alliance that enables clients to explore their feelings, increase their insights and work towards personal growth and healing. My commitment to ensuring clients feel both seen and heard allows me to connect with and support individuals from varying groups and diverse backgrounds. And, as a Hampton University alumnus (My Home by the Sea!), I am incredibly passionate about bridging the gap to provide access to care for minority individuals.

My mental health experience began in 2009 during my tenure with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. I was fortunate to work with adolescents and young adults with acute psychiatric symptoms and behavioral concerns. I then transitioned to Veritas Collaborative and The Emily Program, where I have acquired a significant amount of experience with all forms of disordered eating. Collectively, I bring over 14 years’ experience in the mental health arena, including acute psychiatric hospitals, community mental health agencies, women’s shelters, and disordered eating residential facilities.

I enjoy working with adolescents, teens, and adults from all walks of life- but nothing is more rewarding than the ability to make a positive impact in someone’s mental and emotional wellbeing.

Life can be really enjoyable when you “learn to adjust your sails.” I look forward to collaborating with you on journey to wellness.
