Everything you need to heal is already within you, and my work with you will help build motivation, awareness, confidence, and understanding that nurtures these strengths that exist, but are difficult to see when external and internal challenges are faced in life. I know there is an end goal when entering therapy, but the journey to that goal is just as important. We will work together to make that path you desire to be on.
I have a BA in Psychology, and Masters in Social Work. I am also a 200-HR RYT since 2017. I have been working in the mental health field over the past 12 years, mostly working with adults and Veterans struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and other mood disorders. I have worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals and addiction treatment centers, as well as an outpatient Substance Use Disorder Clinic. This experience has made me knowledgeable about the concerns that bring individuals into inpatient treatment facilities, as well as challenges then faced post discharge and in the community. Through my Masters education, I also worked with children and teens who experienced sexual trauma, and provided support and education about this topic to local schools, families, and parents of the survivor. Along with my yoga certification, I also have been trained in Y12SR, Yoga Warriors International, Warrior Kids, and Yoga for children. Yoga is an effective tool and compliments talk therapy and medication management; enhancing positive outcomes. Some of the main therapy models I offer are Mindfulness Based Therapy, CBT, Solutions-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing/Enhancement Therapy.
