As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my passion has been to work with youth of all ages and families. I frequently work with children and adolescents to help them express their emotions in a more positive way, and with the family to develop healthy, happy relationships and interactions. I also work with teens who are dealing with anxiety, depression, bullying, and low self-esteem. In addition to work with the family, I also have a special interest in working with women and new mothers. Through modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology, we will work together through the challenges that often arise in our busy day to day lives.
I have a Master’s of Social Work degree from UNC Wilmington, and am licensed to practice in NC. I became a therapist after teaching for 6 years in the public school system. While practicing as a clinical social worker, I gained my experience in community mental health, home-based therapy, and in mental health facilities working with both youth and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and ADHD.
