National Family Caregivers Month

National Family Caregivers Month

This November, we celebrate and honor the caregivers who lovingly bathe, shop for, clean houses, and provide comfort to the millions of elderly, disabled, or ill people across the United States. Often unappreciated, caregiving is an essential service for providing the necessary care and support that loved ones need to live a life full of dignity and pride. Caregivers make personal sacrifices to ensure that their loved ones are safe, healthy, and happy during difficult times of unanticipated struggle. This has been especially true during the pandemic as millions have found themselves facing unexpected changes to their daily lives.

Take a moment this month to appreciate and support the caregivers in your own life. A simple card, small gift, or token of appreciation can make all the difference in the world to a caregiver. If you can, spend time with a caregiver and offer to help them with small tasks or chores to lighten their load. If you know any person who needs care in your life, surprise them with an afternoon spent together. Quality time with family members, friends, and loved ones can make a person’s day exciting and joyful, especially as the holiday season quickly approaches. Enjoy the small moments together. There are endless ways to support and engage with your loved ones, including sharing stories, playing games, watching movies, baking/cooking, reading, or helping them with anything they need.

Thank you to all the caregivers across the world, country, and especially to those in our own community. We at Simply Thrive appreciate the sacrifices you take to care for your loved ones and support you wholeheartedly.
