My name is Alex Vergara, and I am pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I also studied Neuroscience and Hispanic Studies. I am very excited to be with Simply Thrive and look forward to meeting with you!
My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe space for you to navigate any concerns or struggles. I believe that every individual is unique, therefore I use person-centered approaches to ensure that you are both understood and heard. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions to help you identify any negative thought patterns as these have a large impact on our functionality. We will work together to explore methods for making meaningful changes and to alleviate any stress in your life.
You may be facing challenges or dysfunction right now. Change can be difficult and sometimes scary. My hope is that I can provide a safe space where you can be yourself and feel supported as you take these first important steps.
