Hi there! My name is Skylar Gross, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) who recently graduated with a Master in Social Work from North Carolina State University. I also graduated with a BA in Spanish Language, as well as a double minor in Art and Psychology from North Carolina State University. I have always had a passion for providing mental health services, and aim to meet my clients and their families where they are in the therapeutic process while providing a safe and accepting environment to help each individual feel secure throughout our sessions.

I work with pre-teens, teens, and adults, and I have provided mental health services in community-based settings as well as hospital-based settings. I have worked with a variety of specialized populations including refugees, immigrants, and chronically ill individuals. I also have experience in working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief and loss, thoughts of suicide, self-harm, mood disorders, personality disorders, adjustment to illness, and adjustment disorder.

Whether I am working with individuals, couples, or families, I strive to use a culturally-competent, strengths-based approach that is collaborative and client-centered. I primarily use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and, based on the needs of the client, include principles from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. By incorporating these modalities, I hope to empower you, and to help you engage and enhance your capacity for introspection, reflection and self-awareness to better understand and navigate your past, present, and future. I look forward to working with you, and to being part of your journey.
