Welcome!

My name is Alyssa Decker, and I recently graduated with my master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have experience working with people across the lifespan with many different mental health needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I primarily work with individuals 16 years old and older who may struggle with anxiety, panic attacks, obsessions and compulsions, depression, attention deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, gender identity, sexuality, life transitions, and stress.

As a therapist, I strive to create an open space where you are comfortable to be your most authentic self and are willing to explore different aspects of your life. I use a person-centered, strength-based approach to counseling. I pull in techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) among other therapy approaches that will best serve your needs. These techniques will help you by building awareness of the present moment through mindfulness, assessing your personal values and making values-based decisions, defusing from your thoughts, and much more.

Whether you are taking your first steps in your journey of counseling, or your path is continuing, I am honored to walk alongside, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
