Hey there! My name is Christina Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) as well as an Associate Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. I spent the last 11 years in the medical field as a Respiratory Therapist before pursuing a degree in mental health. I received my degree in mental health counseling from East Carolina University. The biggest reason for the change in career is that while working with patients struggling with physical illnesses, I noticed how much their mental health played a huge role in their quality of life and their approach to difficult circumstances. Also, I have experienced many trials and tribulations in my own life that led me to seek help from a counselor. This was not an easy thing to do, and I know the courage that it takes to make that first step toward the life you deserve.

As a counselor, I have a very individualized approach. Since no two people are alike, I do not feel that any two client’s sessions should be alike either. I consider myself a compassionate, open minded, honest, and self-aware person. I would love to see everyone that I work with grow to their fullest potential and I genuinely care about the well-being of the clients that I work with. I strive to give my clients a warm and comfortable environment, where we can work together to accomplish goals and work through the stress, hurt, and confusion of life’s challenges.

I enjoy working with teens and adults, and have a therapeutic focus on stress management, life transitions, self-care, anxiety, mood disorders, and addictions and substance abuse. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing when working with clients.
I look forward to working with you and providing an environment in which you feel safe, heard, and respected. I care about your mental health and would love to see you THRIVE! Let’s work together for the future you deserve.
