Hello, my name is Courtney Pestovich and it’s great to meet you! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with my Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working individuals with developmental disabilities who experience co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Additionally, I have a background in elementary and early childhood education with over eight years of experience working with young children and their families. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University and my Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development from Texas Woman’s University.

As a therapist, I value the importance of a safe, non-judgmental, and warm environment. I believe that you should feel genuinely accepted and respected and that building a partnership is essential to creating and achieving therapeutic goals. I have two years of experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum with co-occurring disorders. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals with other developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, chronic health issues, and psychiatric conditions.

I believe that therapy should use a strengths-based approach to highlight what innate qualities clients possess while they navigate challenges. I utilize an integrated approach to therapy by drawing techniques from CBT and DBT to help you develop the skills necessary to successfully achieve the goals we set together.

I am committed to providing an environment that supports not only openness and mutual trust, but also one in which you feel self-empowered to take charge of your mental health journey. I look forward to partnering with you to create positive changes in your life!
